Scott
Enjoyed hunting with you and appreciate
the good food and comfortable accommodations at the
ranch. Butch and I have recommended NE Trophy Bucks
and Birds on a waterfowl hunting website to which we
subscribe. Also the little piece below was sent to Crosswinds,
a magazine for which I write. It is distributed every
two months across the mid Delmarva Peninsula.
I will contact my friend Tony White for
any advice about ecotourism he might make and will pass
them along.
Again thanks and best wishes to you, Jim
and Michaela.
Butch (who took this photo) and I just
returned from a 3 day hunt in the sandhill region of
central Nebraska with Nebraska Trophy Bucks and Birds
LLC. The area is just loaded with turkeys. We flew into
Grand Island NE then drove 150 miles to Halsey, a straight
shot up route 2.
The fellow with me is Scott Fink an owner
and one of the guides. He worked hard to put both Butch
and I on really nice Merriam's. The sandhill region
(90,000 square miles) is rugged, very isolated terrain
with lots of vertical. It is cattle country and wide
open. There are cottonwoods and evergreens stands around
water courses which hold big groups of turkeys. Saw
one huge winter roost area with 2 inches of turkey poop
around the trees!! Feathers everywhere. Oh yes, deer,
both whitetail and mulies, are everywhere.
I would definitely recommend Scott's outfit.
Good accommodations, great food, friendly, competent
folks. Scott can be contacted at scott@1greathunt.com
