2007 marks the first year of business for Nebraska Trophy Bucks 'n Birds, but not the first for its owners, Jim Kuhn and Scott Fink. Both had owned and managed successful outfitting businesses, before joining their talents together to form Nebraska Trophy Bucks 'n Birds. Jim managed operations in Nebraska's Sandhills in two different locations, while Scott managed his own in the general area where Nebraska Trophy Bucks 'n Birds now operates.

Both Kuhn and Fink grew up in rural Nebraska where hunting was part of the lifestyle. Fink still lives on the family ranch, which is part of the hunting area available to the business's customers. The guides and cooks working for Nebraska Trophy Bucks 'n Birds are almost exclusively local people who know the land well.
